Since Filming: This stock footage hails from the 1958 Ealing film Davy, which starred Harry Secombe. The footage shot captures the venue in its last days as this threatre was destroyed by fire in 1958. All that could be salvaged were the facade and side walls, which survive with minor alterations to this day. The building now houses a Waterstone's book store.

Since Filming: The Talk of the Town closed in 1982 and was subsequently re-opened as The Hippodrome (its original name). It is one of the few music hall era theatres in central London that is still survives today. After refurbishment, it was relaunched as the Hippodrome Casino in 2012.

The rest of the adornments (which were quite wonderful, and can be seen below) have been removed.

Among those who performed there was Danny La Rue, the famous singer and female impersonator, who was a resident act at the club from 1956-1963. The club is long gone and the premises now houses a fine art gallery.
